Five Strategies on Getting the Best Deals on Winter Coats online

Finding a stylish winter coat that is both warm and affordable can be a challenging feat. Many consumers wait until the holiday season to purchase their winter coats and gear, in hopes that the deals will beat prices for the rest of the season. These five strategies can help consumers get the best deals on winter coats online.

Consider a Wide Range of Retailers

Department stores are not the only places selling trendy coats such as military style jackets for men or faux fur peacoat styles for women. Target has recently expanded its selection of winter clothing, boots and accessories in standard sizes for men and women. Similar big-box retailers such as Burlington Coat Factory, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Cabella’s all carry affordable winter coats that are on trend with today’s styles. Many consumers are surprised that these home goods and sporting goods stores offer such a wide selection of winter wear.

Price Match

Consumers shopping at several popular big-box retailers may be able to price match by following the store’s specific requirements. Some stores even match their own website’s prices. In addition to price matching, many retailers are offering promises that if the price drops within a specific time frame, they will provide the consumer with a refund for the difference.

Shop the Fall Sales Racks

Winter clothing doesn’t typically see drastic price drops until the end of the season, reports the Daily Finance website. Consumers living in moderate climates might consider shopping the fall sales racks instead of the winter wear department. On holidays, fall clothing should be discounted at least 50 percent off in bricks and mortar as well as online stores.

Look for Online Promotional Codes

Online shoppers may be able to gain access to promotional discount codes that make for a better deal than what is available in the same retailer’s bricks and mortar location. Consumers can expect to find deals such as free shipping on their shopping orders. Some stores even allow multiple codes to be stacked on an online order, such as a code for a dollar or percent off the transaction as well as a code for free shipping. In addition to these promotions, some stores are offering cash back or gift cards with a minimum purchase. Smartphone apps allows consumers to easily locate these codes to their favorite retailers.

Sign Up for Flash Deal Sale Notifications

Many online retailers will be offering flash deals, including for hot items such as this winter’s latest fashions. Consumers can sign up to get these notifications on limited-time deals. To maximize these sales, consumers can also look to e-rebate services that provide a percent of the purchase back to the consumer in the form of a rebate check, points or store credit. Combining these deals can make for a great price on a winter coat to be given as a holiday gift.
