First trailer lands for ‘RoboCop’ remake reveals Joel Kinnaman as ‘the future of American justice’
The first trailer has arrived online for José Padilha’s RoboCop remake, starring Joel Kinnaman as “This is the future of American justice”.

Joel Kinnaman as RoboCop
Kinnaman stars as policeman Alex Murphy, a Detroit copper critically injured in the line of duty who becomes the prime candidate for a new half-man, half-robot “cyborg” initiative devised by tech-giants OmniCorp.
Fans will easily recognize the parallels between the new film and the original Paul Verhoeven film. Official synopsis is below
This new version also seems like far more than a note-for-note remake than many fans may have expected.
The classic “dead or alive…you’re coming with me” catchphrase is certain to rile fans.
You may need to play the clip to see that fleeting glimpse of the ED-209.
Directed by Padilha and co-starring Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Samuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman.
RoboCop will open in theaters on February 7, 2014.
Synopsis: In 2028 Detroit, when Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop – is critically injured in the line of duty, the multinational conglomerate OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer.
