First ‘Terminator Genysis’ trailer, poster: ‘Everything has changed’
Paramount has released the first Terminator Genisys trailer featuring the new rebooted universe starring Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Director Alan Taylor‘s (Thor: The Dark World) first film in the new franchise begins just like the original, as future John Connor (Jason Clarke) in a war-ravaged 2029 sends his loyal soldier, Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to save his mother (Emilia Clarke) from a Terminator programmed to kill her.
Reese doesn’t appear to be in the same timeline as the story is very different in 1984 and beyond. Arnold’s Terminator has been protecting the young Sarah Connor and is nicknamed “Pops.”

The film also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance, and J.K. Simmons.
Terminator Genisys opens in theaters on July 1, 2015.
