First poster A&E’s ‘Psycho’ prequel ‘Bates Motel’
Alfred Hitchcock is center stage in Hollywood with HBO’s The Girl examining the relationship between him and Tippi Hedren (Toby Jones and Sienna Miller) during the making of The Birds and Hitchcock going behind the scenes of Psycho with Anthony Hopkins in the title role, not to mention Scarlett Johansson in the shower.
A&E’s Bates Motel is much more concerned with what Hitchcock put on the screen and the show will play as a prequel to his most famous work.
The series is set in the famed hotel during the early years of Norman Bates under the “watchful eye” of Mother. Vera Farmiga has been cast as “a complicated, passionate and compelling woman who is smart, multidimensional and always capable of surprising people” and the network just released the a tease courtesy THR.
