First photo of JK Simmons as Jim Gordon in ‘Justice League’ film

justice-league-logo-blackDirector Zack Snyder teased fans with a Batman pic revealing Ben Affleck in a new armored Batsuit of sorts and dropped this first look at  J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon next to the Batsignal.

Simmons pleased fans a J. Jonah Jameson in the Sam Raimi trilogy of Spider-Man films and stars alongside Affleck in the upcoming film The Accountant. He has a long resume of projects such as Terminator Genisys, Juno work on Law & Order, Oz, The Closer as well as great voice work in Kung Fu Panda 3, Ultimate Spider-Man and Phineas and Ferb.

Check out the photo below.

Justice League follows the brief encounter between Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller in the mid-credits Suicide Squad screen and Bruce Wayne as he embarks on the journey to unite the metahumans against a big threat against the Earth, rumored to be Steppenwolf.

No one expects to see much of Simmons in JL, but will be key part in the Batman reboot with Affleck.

Joining Affleck will be Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Amber Heard, JK Simmons, Willem DaFoe, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane and Ray Fisher.

Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.

Here’s the synopsis for the new film:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash -— it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
