First look Benedict Cumberbatch with ‘Doctor Strange’ powers, Rachel McAdams role revealed
Marvel rolled out the preview ahead of the New Year: the first full official photos of Benedict Cumberbatch from Doctor Strange. Published by Entertainment Weekly, Cumberbatch is seen with a bright red cape, dark blue clothing that looks like a vest, and what seems to be a medallion used to button down his cape, fans are surely in for a wild ride.

In another concept art photo, Cumberbatch lies at a hospital bed with doctors all around him. His face speaks of nothing but pain and desperation as his bleeding hands seem to have given up hope of recovery.
Additional news surrounds Rachel McAdams, who was cast for the movie, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige gave details to EW as to what McAdams’ character is all about.
“Rachel McAdams plays a fellow surgeon that has a history with Strange and is sort of lynchpin to his old life, once he steps into he role of a sorcerer,” Feige said.
He further explained that McAdams’ character is someone that Strange has had a connection from the beginning, and while something happens to tear them apart, they will once again be reunited. Basically, the character “helps anchor his [Cumberbatch] humanity.”

The film also stars Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Mads Mikkelsen and will be directed by Scott Derrickson.
