First ‘Logan’ still shows Wolverine saving X-23, leaves chaos behind

Empire has debuted the first official movie still from director James Mangold’s Logan, giving fans a new look at The Wolverine and the young X-23.

Empire featured this image showing Hugh Jackman as the aging mutant, with a handcuffed Laura/X-23 (Dafne Keane) in his arms. Wolverine has left a trail of chaos and carnage in the fiery background, so fans should expect more of that famous berserker rage.

Add the new look to the previous footage and photos, HERE, to understand why fans are getting increasingly excited about Jackman’s final adventure as Wolverine.

The director and Jackman had to admit that Logan may be outside the X-Men timeline of other films.

“Hugh and I have been talking about what we would do since we were working on the last one, and for both of us it was this requirement that, to be even interested in doing it, we had to free ourselves from some assumptions that had existed in the past, and be able to change the tone a bit. Not merely to change for change’s sake, but also to make something that’s speaking to the culture now, that’s not just the same style — how many times can they save the world in one way or another? How can we construct a story that’s built more on character and character issues, in a way as if it almost wasn’t a superhero movie, yet it features their powers and struggles and themes?”

Joining Jackman is Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal, and Elizabeth Rodriguez.

Logan is set to open into theaters on March 3, 2017.
