Diesel has captioned the image “the unknown road ahead”, which keeps things nice and mysterious.

The film will return to Los Angeles after the previous five films were set in other locations. Co-President of Production Jeff Kirschenbaum and Creative Executive Jay Polidoro will oversee the project on behalf of Universal.

Diesel and Walker will also be joined by returning stars Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson, while Jason Statham, Tony Jaa, Djimon Hounsou and Kurt Russell in the franchise’s ranks.

Fast & Furious 6 is the highest grossing film for Universal, having made more than $750 million at the worldwide box office.

Directed by series newcomer James Wan, Fast & Furious 7 will open July 11, 2014.
