First ‘Despicable Me 3’ trailer teases Trey Parker’s Balthazar Bratt and the 80’s
Universal Pictures has released the first Despicable Me 3 trailer bringing back Steve Carell’s Gru, now facing off against Trey Parker’s 80’s obsessed supervillain:Balthazar Bratt. From shoulder pads to moonwalks, the antics are awesome, check it out below.
Carell will also voice Gru’s long-lost twin brother Dru, “who is exactly like Gru except with hair, and also different in every way.” Bratt is a former child star “driven to supervillainy as a result of the abrupt cancellation of his TV series when he hit puberty.”

In addition to the Minions, the Despicable Me films overcome predictable plots with a ton of laughs and a softball message for families. There are no real teases of the Minions, but expect a healthy dose of their shenanigans to be peppered throughout the film.
Kristen Wiig’s Lucy is in action with Gru (photo below), making cheesy jokes and it’s fair to assume all of the three girls will be back to fill out the family themes.
The first two Despicable Me movies and Minions have combined to gross over $2.5 billion worldwide — plus a healthy profit on merchandise and material.
Despicable Me 3 opens June 30, 2017.
