‘Firefly’ star Nathan Fillion to cameo on ‘The Big Bang Theory’

Nathan Fillion is set to cameo as himself in this week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, EW has reported. Firefly co-star Summer Glau made a cameo on Big Bang as herself in season two and Jim Parson’s Sheldon regularly refers to his love of the show.

Nathan Fillion appearance on The Big Bang TheoryIn the episode, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Leonard (Johnny Galeckiwill see him at a restaurant and argue whether he really is Nathan Fillion or not. The duo also debates whether they should ask him for a picture.

Fillion portrayed Captain Malcolm Reynolds on the short lived science fiction favorite before finding success on Castle.

“The Comic Book Store Regeneration” will also serve as a tribute to Carol Ann Susi, who played the disembodied voice of Howard Wolowitz’s mother.

The 62-year-old actress died of cancer last November 11, 2014. TVLine reports that in the upcoming episode, Howard will receive shocking news about his mother.

The discovery coincides with the reopening of Stuart’s comic book store which, much to Howard’s surprise, is decorated with furniture from Mrs. Wolowitz’s home. Episode 15 will air this Thursday and, after this installment, will be the season finale.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
