‘Finding Dory’ footage coming at August’s D23 Expo
Fans can’t wait for the sequel to the hit film, Finding Nemo, and the first look appears to be next month when Disney will include “footage” of Finding Dory at the D23 Expo.
The event titled “Every Story Is a Journey: The Upcoming Films of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios” will be hosted by Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter, who will introduce footage from Pixar’s Dory and The Good Dinosaur, and Disney Animation’s Zootopia and Moana.
“Filmmakers will unveil never-before-seen footage from Pixar’s upcoming The Good Dinosaur and Finding Dory and Disney Animation’s Zootopia and Moana. The event will include surprise announcements, musical performances, and appearances by the films’ star voice talent,” Disney promises in their statement.
The title of their announcement: “Walt Disney Animation Studios Returns to D23 EXPO with Three Days of Bigger and Better-Than-Ever Fan Experiences, Including Big Announcements, Film Sneak Peeks and a Frozen Sing-Along!”
The event, presented by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, will take place August 14–16 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Finding Dory centers around an institute where Dory was born, and she travels back to the site of birth to learn more about her “fry-hood” and family. The park is described as “a huge rehabilitation complex for marine and aquarium life.” Apparently, Dory was born there, but was released back into the ocean at a young age.
Back are Albert Brooks, Ellen Degeneres, Willem DaFoe and Vicki Lewis.
Finding Dory will add a ton of new characters: Dory’s parents Charlie and Jenny, voiced by Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton, as well as a funny beluga whale, Bailey, voiced by Ty Burrell. We’d also heard Idris Elba and Dominic West of The Wire provide their voices too.
Finding Dory arrives in theaters on June 17, 2016.
