Final ‘X-Men Apocalypse’ trailer reveals Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Jennifer Lawrence taking the lead

20th Century Fox has officially released the final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, revealing a ton of action and a glimpse of the most popular mutant of all, Wolverine, who closes things out.

X-Men Apocalypse four horsemen movie posterJennifer Lawrence is indeed tapping into her Katniss experience to lead the team during the absence of Xavier (James McAvoy) as Oscar Isaac’s titular villain threatens all of humanity. Fans can see Quicksilver (Evan Peters) acknowledging Magneto (Michael Fassbender) as his father, our first bit of dialogue from Nightcrawler (who may or may not recognize Lawrence’s Mystique as his mother). Check it out below.

Lawrence’s screen presence is certainly felt early on: “Just because there is not a war, doesn’t mean there is peace – He is coming!”

Most of the footage is an extension of the previous clips for Bryan Singer’s new film with the new little reveal at the end.

Nicholas Hoult’s Beast is also back with Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Ben Hardy as Archangel, Kodi Smit-Mcphee playing Nightcrawler and Olivia Munn’s highly anticipated Psylocke. Also present are Lucas Till (Havok), Lana Condor (Jubilee), Rose Byrne (Moira) and a new, young version of Scott and Jean: Tye Sheridan and Sophie Turner.

X-Men: Apocalypse arrives in theaters on May 27, 2016.

Official synopsis: Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
