Fil-Am beauty queen, Krista Kleiner, transforms to ‘Krista K’ as she pursues music career

As Binibining Pilipinas-International 2010 winner, Krista Kleiner prepares to embark on her new music career, which will include performing in  Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next week and the release of a her debut single “Feels so good”, the California born and raised beauty has changed her name to Krista K.

Kleiner explains the move, “Krista Kleiner for me is what I’m known for as being a beauty queen and I really wanted somewhat of a fresh beginning. I didn’t want to be known as, ‘O, iyong beauty queen na nagta-try kumanta o iyong naglabas ng album.’ No, I wanted to be known as an artist.”

During her musical stint in Malaysia, Krista K will be performing with music heavyweights Akon and Taboo, of the quartet, the Black-Eyed Peas.

Krista says she’ll be doing a 20-25 minute set during the show in Kuala Lumpur.

When askedabout the title of her show, Krista said, “It’s, uhm… just a party. We don’t really have a name for it.

“Maybe Feel So Good party? Yeah, that would be a good idea.”

Krista the beauty queen placed in the Top 15 in the Miss International pageant in 2010.

Krista was born and raised in California, USA to a Filipina mother and a father of British and German descent. She attended the University of California, San Diego and has done acting and modeling for the GMA network in the Philippines.
