One of the biggest and loudest responses from the defenders of abortions is that everything after 21 weeks is a scare tactic, it never happens, there is “No ripping” – the last one comes from Dr. Jennifer Gunter in response to Donald Trump.
Dr. Gunter detailed the stats and the procedures, here’s how it breaks down:
Gunter defends the rarity of abortions, citing the “1.3 percent of abortions happen at or after 21 weeks and 80 percent are for birth defects” therefore
699,502 x 1.3% = 9093 abortions after 21 weeks. If 80% are birth defects, that translates to 1,818 abortions which are not.
That means America kills nearly 2,000 babies annually which can survive outside the womb, can feel pain and are butchered with “sharp dissection and blunt dissection” not ripped out. That is Gunter’s defense.
