Erick Carlson identified as third victim in Pennsylvania plane crash
A third victim has died after the crash of a small plane Friday in Southwestern Pennsylvania, identified today by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.
Erick Carlson, 27, of Rockville, died about 5:20 p.m. Saturday at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, according to supervisor Marty Coyne of the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.
The two other victims were “team members” of a Reston-based consulting firm, the company, Capital Edge Consulting, said in a statement Saturday.
They were identified as Terry Carlson and Jason Willems. The firm’s website listed Terry A. Carlson as a managing director.
In a statement Saturday, the company had said Erick Carlson, the third passenger, was in critical condition and was being treated for injuries suffered in the crash. An online profile said Erick Carlson was a senior consultant at Capital Edge. News reports listed Erick Carlson as Terry A. Carlson’s son, though the relationship could not immediately be confirmed.
The crash occurred near the Nemacolin Woodland Resort, about 60 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. The company said the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board would determine the probable cause of the crash.
