Ellen Page targets Ted Cruz at fair on gay discrimination
While literally grilling at the Iowa State Fair, GOP Presidential candidate and Texas Senator Ted Cruz was approached by actress Ellen Page in disguise to answer questions regarding Christians and their prejudice against homosexuality and gay marriage.
Cruz for his thoughts on “people getting fired just for being gay or trans,” to which Cruz said he believed Christians are being persecuted in the wake of the Supreme Court’s June ruling, which mandated same-sex marriage a constitutional right and “living according to their faith.”
Page interrupted with a “segregation era” remark and Cruz shut her down to offer up a story about Christians who refuse to participate in gay wedding by offering their services and what the financial implications turned out to be.
Cruz continues to talk about religious freedom, protecting the rights of the Jew to refuse the Muslim ceremony and vice versa.
While Page attempts to point out discrimination of homosexuals, how they used to be put in jail, Cruz turns the attention to ISIS and Iran murdering gays.
The Juno star points to Christian violence in Jamaica against gays and Cruz points out the moral equivalency between the two and how alarming the execution of gays should be.
Page starred in 2007’s Juno and came out as a lesbian in 2014.
