Ellen DeGeneres: Innovatively Scary
Ellen conjures up snap-shot moments for her audience with stars Zac Effron and Lauren Cohan
Talk show host and comedienne par excellence, Ellen created some really memorable and fun moments with the stars on her show. On Wednesday, the Ellen DeGeneres Show audience witnessed her not only scaring the daylights out of a zombie horror franchise star but also got a lap dance from Zac Effron.
Touching new highs, the ever-entertaining talk show host had Lauren Cohan as the star guest on Wednesday, promoting her new psychological horror movie The Boy. Keeping up with her well-loved tradition of scaring her guests, Ellen scared the Walking Dead star out of her wits with the adult version of the age-old “boo” trick. While deciding whether zombies were scarier than the creepy doll from the movie, Lauren had the scare of her life when a guy in a white mask sprang up beside her shouting “boo”.
That same day, the audience had a real treat when DeGeneres decided to have some fun with the star on her show, Zac Effron. The High School Musical star was promoting his new movie Dirty Grandpa, co-starring Robert De Niro. Ellen selected “Bad Behavior” deck for the famous “Heads Up!” section. The blushing star in leather pants acted out lap dance, tinder, twerking and skinny dipping with DeGeneres, guessing most of them correctly. She also had a fanboy moment, talking about her experience working with De Niro.
Ellen, the well-liked stand-up comedienne and LGBT rights champion started her career performing at a local coffee house. True to what DeDeneres says, “Sometimes you can’t see yourself clearly until you see yourself through the eyes of others”. She accidentally found out her comic timing at a public speaking event while covering up her embarrassment with humor and being well-received. She worked her way up from appearances on different talk shows, prime-time sitcom, and big screen roles to her own talk show, “Ellen”, which has won scores of People’s Choice Awards and Daytime Emmy.
Since its inception in 2003, The Ellen DeGeneres show has witnessed scores of stars, appearing as guests falling under the spell of Ellen’s hilarious open nature, giving the audience some really memorable moments. Keeping an element of unexpected in her interactions, she has been able to keep her show fresh even after so many years.
From being entertained by Zac Effron to having fun with the Walking Dead star, Ellen never disappoints her audience. Keeping up her tradition of nonchalantly terrifying her guests, she seems to have reached the zenith on Wednesday when she offered a proper scare to a zombie franchise star. But, only time will tell as this lovable host always has something unexpected up her sleeves.
Who do you think should be next on her scared guest list?
