EG Daily talks 30th anniversary ‘Pee Wee’s Big Adventure’ and her music career
30 years ago Tim Burton burst onto the scene with Pee Wee’s Big Adventure and Hollywood would forever be changed. Actress and musician E. G. Daily talked with Dispatch Radio about the film, working with Burton and star Paul Reubens before transitioning to an update on her music career which has exploded since competing on The Voice.
E.G. talked about playing Dottie, the anniversary screening in Hollywood and of course, Pee Wee himself: “We keep in touch a lot” before confessing that fans still recognize her as Dottie – “It is a cult!”
“Unbelievable,” is the first word she says when talking about the longevity of the film.
“He’s like a mastermind, genius, mad scientist,” she says of Burton on set.
E.G. has a long resume of great voice work on Rugrats and Powerpuff Girls, but appeared on NBC’s The Voice, joining Blake Shelton’s team and now sees her music career taking off.
“It’s going to be pretty iconic,” she says, listing off some of the songs to pull from including fun things like the the Smelly Cat song from Friends. “Focus a little more,” she says was Shelton’s biggest word of advice: “Be consistent.”
More music, doing characters, “singing topped it all off for me,” appearing at a comic-con and the anniversary of Better Off Dead – all topics: Check out the full interview below.
