‘Dyesebel’ with Anne Curtis proves a smash in debut
Monday was nothing short of huge for the premiere of the ABS-CBN debut of “Dyesebel” starring the latest mermaid, Anne Curtis.
According to ABS-CBN, its adaptation of “Dyesebel” with Anne Curtis in the title role registered a nationwide rating of 32.8%, based on data from Kantar Media.

The latest adaptation of the Mars Ravelo fantasy comic (Curtis being the 7th actress to take on the role) was not only big in the TV rating, but also on the microblogging social media platform, Twitter, where “#DyesebelAngSimula,” topping the list of trending topics in the Philippines and worldwide.
There was some drama, real or perceived, leading up to the premiere. First was the questions concerning Curtis working with her former beau, Sam Milby. However, Anne squashed this in an interview saying, ““Normal naman kasi wala kaming bad blood. We are okay.”
In addition, was the comparisons between Curtis and the last Dyesebel from 2008, Marian Rivera.
However, Marian said recently, “Mabait siyang kaibigan and makikita niyo na nagpapalitan pa nga kami ng mga messages sa isa’t-isa sa Instagram so happy ako na si Anne ang gagawa niyan at wala akong nakikitang masama na maging Dyesebel siya.”
