Donald Trump repeats he could ‘murder’ someone and keep supporters

Donald Trump doubled down on his claim that he could murder someone and not lose supporters.

“Even the really dishonest press says Trump’s people are the most incredible,” he said at a campaign rally in Nevada ahead of his GOP caucus win. “Sixty-eight percent would not leave under any circumstances. I think that means murder. I think it means anything.”

Trump was referencing a December national poll that revealed nearly 70 percent of his supporters would still vote for him if he ran as an independent. He also recalled an unspecified poll in which he said more than 90 percent of his supporters would “probably never leave,” Politico reported.

“Other guys are at 10 percent,” Trump continued. “I mean, they’ll leave if you — if you sneeze they’ll leave. They don’t like the way you sneeze.”

His comments follow an Iowa campaign rally in January when he said he wouldn’t lose support if he shot someone in public.

“I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK?” Trump said at the time. “It’s, like, incredible.”
