Donald Trump attacks ‘free speech,’ newspaper which ‘lie’ and cover for Hillary Clinton

The GOP nominee, Donald Trump, continues to make enemies in the press, now calling the journalists “crooked media,” sounding increasingly authoritarian.

At a Saturday night rally in Fairfield, Connecticut, Trump went so far as to say that his race is not against the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, but against journalists. “I’m not running against Crooked Hillary,” he told a crowd. “I’m running against the crooked media.”

On Sunday, the nominee challenged the application of first amendment rights: “It is not ‘freedom of the press’ when newspapers and others are allowed to say and write whatever they want even if it is completely false!”

After denouncing some reporters as “disgusting,” Trump also tweeted: “I am not only fighting Crooked Hillary, I am fighting the dishonest and corrupt media and her government protection process. People get it!”

Trump has previously argued that Congress should “open up our libel laws” so that people could sue newspapers.

The New York billionaire has repeatedly claimed that the media doesn’t “properly” cover his rallies, particularly the “size or enthusiasm,” because if they were, Trump believes he would be “beating Hillary [Clinton] by 20%.”

Trump attacked journalists isn’t something new or something that will end, but Clinton has usually resorted to attacking the GOP for any hurdle, obstacle or question regarding her track record.

Hillary attacks Trump on women, Muslims, tries to make links to Nazis and more…much worse than the press:

“His campaign is as divisive as any we have seen in our lifetimes. It is built on stoking mistrust and pitting American against American. It’s there in everything he says and everything he promises to do as President.

“It’s there in how he wants to ban Muslims from coming to the United States, and toyed with creating a database to track Muslims in America. It’s there in the way he demeans women, in his promotion of an anti-Semitic image pushed by neo-Nazis, and in the months that he spent trying to discredit the citizenship and legitimacy of our first black President. Last night in an interview, he said that he understands systemic bias against black people because – and I quote – ‘even against me, the system is rigged’ – unquote. He went on to say, ‘I can relate to it very much myself.’  Even this – the killing of people – is somehow all about him.”

Moreover, the press seemed uninterested in the bias of the DNC for Clinton over Sanders, even manipulating interviews and coverage to suppress Sanders’ primary run.
