Donald Michael Lapointe identified as the dead man in the trunk of abandoned car in Houston

A dead body in the trunk of an abandoned car in a ditch just outside of Houston drew some attention this week when the body was discovered by a would-be thief. (Full story here)

Donald Michael Lapointe of Houston has been identified as the dead man, shot atleast once in the chest, said Jack Harvey, a homicide investigator with the Houston Police Department.

 Lapointe had been beaten, cuts and swelling was evident on his face, added the homicide investigator.

A passer-by looking through an idling car he saw in a ditch in east Houston found a man’s body in the trunk while searching for “something to take” such as stereo speakers.

The 28-year-old victim has a bag of pills was found stuffed inside his pants.
