Doctors remove dandelion from Chinese toddler’s ear
Remember the warning your mother used to give you when you were young, “Your ears a so dirty they could grow potatoes”?
A young girl from Beijing, China wasn’t growing potatoes; however, she did have a dandelion growing in her ear. For real.
The parents of 16 month old Ranran took their child to the doctor after seeing something growing inside her ear, according to a RT.com report.
What doctors found in Ranran’s ear was a”fully-formed dandelion”, about 2 cm long, completely filling the girl’s ear canal.
The removal process only took moments for the stunned doctors; however, doctors said it was not an easy task since the flower was rather tenacious.
The parents recall a seed falling into Ranran’s ear about four months ago, but they never removed it.
The news report quoting otolaryngologist, Gu Qinglong, “It is likely that the warmth and humidity inside the ear canal encouraged the growth of the dandelion.”
