Djimon Hounsou attends ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Red Carpet event in Disney Orlando
A special, dedicated screening of highly anticipated release of the latest Disney/Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy was held in Disney Orlando ahead of today’s opening with star Djimon Hounsou attending the Red Carpet Event. Hounsou met with fans, posed for photos and signed some autographs before the premiere.

The Gladiator star met with each guest, gretting them before the crowd became overwelming. Hounsou introduced the film announcing: “Hold onto your seat. You are in for a wild ride!”
He plays Korath, an antagonist in the film which centers on Peter Quill and the formation of a team of anti-heores: Quill as Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer (Dave Baustista), Zoe Saldana as Gamora and Rocket the Raccoon, Groot – voiced by Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel.
The unlikely team battle to recover the dangerous Infinity Stone from the clutches of Ronan The Accuser, a psychotic villain bent on destroying the headquarters of Nova Corps and their planet. Disney hosted the event to raise awareness for the MEAC/SWAC Challenge which Disney raises funds for each school’s education program. The August 31 game will be between Alabama A&M and North Carolina A&T. For more information or tickets, go HERE.
At last week’s San Diego Comic Con, Marvel announced that the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy will arrive in theaters in 2017, retaining the cast and director James Gunn.
The film also stars Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly, Michael Rooker, Peter Serafinowicz, and Glenn Close.
