Chalk Artists were stationed at most entrances, presenting elaborate displays, all organized by Florida Chart Artists, for the Disney event.
Over 100 artists occupied over 40 spaces, which included several high school teams as well as professionals, said Florida Chalk Artist representative Bob Earlle.
“I am a teacher and we have students who come out as early as 9th grade. Some even win every year. We’ve split them up from their teams of two and many times, both teams will finish because they have a lot of talent,” says Earlle, who added they have participated the last eight years at the Disney event.
Describing the high school talent as the “cream of the crop” Earlle explained that “Adults do street (art) for years and years all over Florida.
The artists begin on Friday morning, work all weekend towards the Sunday morning judging.
