Director Marc Webb confirmed for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3’ as Sony wants a Spidey film every year
Sony has officially signed director Marc Webb to direct the third film in the Spider-Man reboot and will work with Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jeff Pinkner, who have already having written a script.
Production may begin as soon as May, ahead of the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

SPE co-chairman Amy Pascal is spinning Spider-Man’s web ever larger, taking a page from Marvel Entertainment’s superhero movie playbook. “We are expanding the ‘Spider-Man’ universe into The Sinister Six and Venom, so that we have ‘Spider-Man’ movies every year,” Pascal says.
This plan will accommodate the recently confirmed Venom and Sinister Six movies, as well as the main strand of Spider-Man stories, with The Amazing Spider-Man 3 expected to be the first release in this new schedule.
Sony detailed the plans and teams back in December.
Sony is fast-tracking a third Smurfs film and is moving ahead with adaptations for the popular Goosebumps series.
