Director Joe Johnston wants to do ‘Boba Fett’ film
Joe Johnston wants to make a ‘Star Wars’ spin-off movie about Boba Fett.
The ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ director started off his career as a storyboard artist on the original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy and now wants George Lucas – who created the iconic sci-fi series – to let him resurrect the bounty hunter character for his own big screen adventure.
Joe said: “I’m trying to get George to make a feature based on Boba Fett. I would like to (direct it), it would be a lot of fun.”
The filmmaker created the design for the armour-clad Boba Fett – who appeared in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Return of the Jedi’ – as well as a host of other characters including Yoda and the Ewoks and many of the ships, such as the Millennium Falcon, the X-Wing Fighters and the Imperial Star Destroyers.
‘Star Wars’ isn’t the only franchise Johnston wants to return to.
The 61-year-old former effects artist also wants to helm ‘Jurassic Park 4’, and has revealed he has been in discussions about taking control of the project.
