Director Darren Aronofsky still doesn’t understand Genesis, defends ‘Noah’
Noah is the most non-Biblical Biblical film ever made was one of the headlines and director Darren Aronofsky is doubling down on his interpretative Hollywood film, defending his titular character who is described as an “environmentalist wacko.”
Speaking to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, the director was asked if he believed that label to be accurate.
“It’s in Genesis,” he replied. “Noah is saving the animals; he’s not out there saving innocent babies; he’s saving the animals, he’s saving creation.” Aronofsky added that he “studied every word” in the Old Testament as it related to Noah.
“It was very clear to us that there was an environmental message,” the director said. “To pull that message out of it, we think, would have been more of an editing job than just sort of representing what’s there.”
Sadly…no.
Aronofsky still doesn’t seem to grasp that the animals were saved with the intent of repopulating the earth under the dominion of mankind.
Noah is NOT “out the saving innocent babies” because there were no longer innocent babies to be saved. Humans had been judged and only Noah’s family viewed as RIGHTEOUS and therefore; worthy to repopulate the earth with humans.

Aronofsky doesn’t understand the redemption of the flood, grasp the diversity of sin and that God has no special affinity for this earth which HE created. During the interview he points to a new global warming report to CNN: “The water is rising, and we already saw it once. We are living the second chance that was given to Noah.”
Yes, Darren – we are. We living in a second chance to NOT be an abomination to God, one that will rever the Creator and make Him your Lord.
