‘Die Hard 6’ to be called ‘Die Hardest,’ set in Tokyo and ‘Knockout’ screenwriter hired
Die Hard 6 has been given a provisional working title as the sixth installment of the Bruce Willis action series is currently called Die Hardest, according to Total Film.
The script is being written by Ben Trebilcook, who previously worked with A Good Day to Die Hard consulting producer Larry D Webster on his upcoming project Knockout, a video game-themed action film.
The story of the sixth film will reportedly begin in New York, before heading to Tokyo as the main backdrop.
“It is extremely faithful to the franchise and characters and is a natural progression. It’s also a very plausible storyline,” Trebilcook said.
“Getting Larry’s support was great, but there are many hurdles to leap yet and two of those are called Bruce Willis and [producer] Alex Young.
“[There’s] the possibility producers might go back and find some other source material to base the next one on, like they did with the first and second. Mine though, I feel it could be the Rocky Balboa of the Die Hard franchise.”
A Good Day to Die Hard has made $302,361,531 at the worldwide box office.
