Did Donald Rumsfeld ever ask, ‘Who’s going to replace Saddam Hussein?’ or ‘Who’ll keep Iran in check?’
In a note of irony in recent weeks, numerous TV talking head shows have had former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld as a guest to discuss, get this, possible lying associated with the Benghazi attack!

Yesterday, The Daily Caller published a podcast of a “Rummie” interview with Monica Crowley. Key in the interview, as The Daily Caller emphasizes is the following questions and statements by Rumsfeld speaking on Syrian President Bashar Hafez al-Assad:
‘Who’s going to replace him?’ Is it going to be a radical Islamist? And how do we know? And I haven’t met with the opposition forces, but they are all across the spectrum.
Funny. Did Mr. Rumsfeld ask the same questions concerning the eventual ouster of Iraq President Saddam Hussein?
Since, essentially, Saddam kept the Iranians in check,did he ever ask “Who will equalize the power of Iran in the Middle East?”
I suppose he didn’t need to, he knew it would be us.
