Diane Sawyer behaves strangely during election coverage, fuels Internet rumors

Diane Sawyer cohosted ABC’s election coverage with George Stephanopoulos.

Her speech was slurred (“President Barack Ora – Barack Obama“), she wandered, seemed on the verge of giggling, and she kept leaning forward on her arms – some say, like a drunk asking for a drink.

Twitter exploded with the hashtag: #DrunkDianeSawyer

“Diane Sawyer’s name is trending. Many people saying she seems drunk on air,” New York Times reporter Brian Stelter, who was in the ABC control room at the time, tweeted. “Alternative theory: She gets this way when she’s really tired.”
