Devonte Johnson identified as stabbing victim killed in Buffalo by Jamie Galarza
Authorities have identified a man who was stabbed to death in Buffalo over the weekend.
Devonte Johnson, age 21, was identified by Buffalo police late Sunday night as the victim stabbed and killed during a fight on Euclid Avenue.
Jamie Galarza, age 25, was taken into custody and has now been charged with second-degree murder, Buffalo police spokesman Mike DeGeorge said.
Johnson was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of the injury but died Sunday morning at Buffalo General Hospital.
Crime in Buffalo has proved to be a big challenge for authorities with 347 crimes per square mile reported annually with an average in New York of only 47. The national average is even less at 39.6.
