Demolition of Sinkhole home begins with removal of American Flag from roof, given to Jeff Bush family
Sunday morning at 8:30 am authorities cautiously moved in and began the demolition of the Seffner Florida home where a sinkhole opened swallowing a man, Jeff Bush, who was in his bedroom.

Authorities removed and folded the US flag which was on the home of Jeff Bush before demolishing the home Sunday morning
The demolition began with the gentle removal of an American flag at the front of the house. The flag was retrieved, properly folded and handed to Jeremy Bush, the victim’s brother.
Bush is presumed dead and the search was abandoned Saturday.
Authorities were limited in their search and recovery efforts fearing that the house could collapse into the hole at any time.
Experts are saying the work needs to be done from the perimeter and they will be moving in equipment soon to start that process.
Crews using a backhoe with a long arm are pulling portions of the right front of the house forward.
Officials reported to the press that the plan is to open the structure enough to give members of Bush’s family an opportunity to retrieve some belongings.
The backhoe operator, exhibiting great skill and care, has pulled some of the family’s belongs forward with the bucket.
