‘Deadpool’ movie update: SDCC teaser, Ryan Reynolds out, Michael Biehn in

Fox’s Deadpool film has still not been officially announced as Fox producer Lauren Shuler-Donner has mentioned it as one of their ‘possible projects.’ Now the latest rumor is that a trailer that will be shown in San Diego Comic Con.

Deadpool Vol 2 1 Liefeld Variant Liefeld Variant vs SkrullsFrom KDramaStars in their July 7 update “The Deadpool movie trailer could have leaked online before its intended reveal at the San Diego Comic Con 2014…Fans over at NeoGAF and Reddit has claimed that the Deadpool movie trailer has leaked online. It was at NeoGAF and Reddit where the Flash and Constantine TV series pilot episodes were posted on.”

According to the report of the Comic Central City, “Marvel Comics and 20th Century Fox are going to put on a good panel for the fans by showing the Deadpool movie teaser trailer during the San Diego Comic Con 2014.”

Casting rumors are also swirling about: “Despite the rumors that Michael Biehn was removed from the cast, that seems to be not the case in the Deadpool movie but as reported by the Philadelphia Tempo, Ryan Reynolds is not attached to the project anymore and Deadpool aka Wade Wilson would be recast.”

Reynolds provides the voice over in the trailer which has since been deleted. Fans are excited but until SDCC facts won’t confirm the multitude of rumors.

“There was a regime [at the studio] that didn’t see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we’re going to do right by it,” said Donner. “I’d like to do Gambit. I’d like to do Deadpool. We’ll see. There’s a lot of really great characters.”

The studio has so far dated the next mutant flick, X-Men: Apocalypse, for May 27, 2016, and a sequel to The Wolverine for March 3, 2017.  So if Fox moves ahead, it seems like a second film for the fall of 2016 or late 2017 at the earliest.

The Gambit project seems like it is indeed moving ahead as well with Channing Tatus as the popular Cajan mutant.
