Dancing in the Philippines: Now it’s the Bureau of Immigration
Over the past several years we’ve seen a lot of dancing in the Philippines, more specifically from businesses, prisons and government agencies. You may recall the dancing inmates at a Cebu prison groovin’ to Michael Jackson, the Cebu Airlines flight attendants dancing to “Safety Dance” or the Famous, Sexy dancing tax collectors, also from Cebu.
Now its the Bureau of Immigration (BI). In a program called BI-CARES, BI personnel surprised passengers at a Manila airport terminal through a Flash Mob. The uniformed men and women of the Immigration bureau showed off their moves as they danced to Pharell’s “Happy.”
The new customer intimacy project (“courtesy, accountability, responsibility, efficiency and service”) is designed to show the Bureau has something new to offer–“It’s more Fun in the Philippines”.
The program aims to ensure the image of a friendlier, more customer-friendly group of immigration officers for international travelers.
