Dalawna Berran-Lett charged with the deaths of her twins in house fire while she searched for her pot
A Pittsburgh mother whose 3-year-old twins died in a fire was charged Thursday with involuntary manslaughter for the deaths of her two toddler after she left them home alone to hunt for stolen marijuana.

Authorities say that carbon monoxide, smoke, and severe burns took over the toddlers, who are suspected to have been trying to use the stove.
Berran was chasing her 15-year-old daughter Mariah for stealing her own stash of marijuana. The only explanation Berran could give police for leaving the twins behind was “it was too cold outside.”
The woman confessed to police that another incident like this had happened before where the twins tried to cook a rib dinner for themselves and filled the house with smoke.
Berran-Lett returned to find her home on fire and surrounded by firefighters. Her daughter was also standing outside.
“She is in the state of complete shock. She just buried her babies on Saturday,” her attorney said.
Her daughter is currently staying with relatives, police said.
