Daisy Ridley talks ‘Star Wars 8’ Rey, being Jedi or not, is Jyn Erso her mother

Ridley also hinted that next year’s Episode VIII is a “darker” movie than The Force Awakens, and dropped an unexpected tease of what’s ahead.
“I don’t think I am a Jedi,” she said. “I don’t think I am. We’ve had this debate as to whether Leia is because she uses her Force powers. Just because she’s not like, ‘Oh, I’m going on an adventure’ like Luke doesn’t make her any less Forceful.”
Director Rian Johnson takes over for J.J. Abrams with a largely returning cast to join Ridley: Adam Driver,Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o with newcomers Benicio del Toro and Laura Dern.
Original cast members Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels and Mark Hamill also confirmed to have roles.
