Rumors swirled that the reboot of TMNT would involve a new origin and producer Michael Bay fueled those negative comments implying that an “alien” origin would be part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle reboot.
Talking during TCA Crave Online got to sit down with producer Brad Fuller to set the record straight.
“No. They’re not aliens.”
Fuller tried to explain away the source and confusion of the rumors.
“The turtles come from alien ooze so I think that it probably came from that, but our turtles are not aliens,” he says before outright stating that the film will have a “familiar origin story.” – “YES.”
The four turtles will be featured using the new motion capture technology. Alan Ritchson (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) is Raphael, Noel Fisher plays Michelangelo, Jeremy Howard is Donatello and Pete Ploszek will be Leonardo. Danny Woodburn will be the voice of Splinter.
