Back in Mexico, at the man’s burial, thousands turned out to mourn Edgar Tamayo as a hero.

Tamayo, age 46, was found guilty two decades ago. Human rights groups protested the execution, stirring tensions between the two countries which prompted a statement by Secretary of State John Kerry.

Kerry repeatedly urged the Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott to delay Tamayo’s punishment, saying it “could impact the way American citizens are treated in other countries.”

The Mexican government also sharply criticized the decision, saying failure to review Tamayo’s case and reconsider his sentence would be ‘a clear violation by the United States of its international obligations.

Hundreds lined the streets with candles as Tamayo’s coffin was carried to the burial site.

I’m sure mr. tamayo will be WARMLY received in hell.

    • Ricky says:

Those who knew Mr Tamayo were aware that he was a devout Christian who made peace with his God. Considering the 20 years of ‘cruel and unusual’ punishment he received from Texas authorities, Mr Tamayo has paid the ultimate price and has been forgiven for his Earthly sins. Therefore, I’m sure Mr Tamayo in the arms of his Heavenly father.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged, For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged,” — (Matthew 7:1-3)

  3. Dorina Lisson (ACADP) says:

Edgar Tamayo allegedly committed the crime and had paid the price of 20 years on death row awaiting execution. Tamayo’s execution was a blood-thirty act, which served no purpose. Those who celebrate executions are despicable people. Tamayo was denied a fair trial because Texas authorities denied him his ‘right’ to consular assistance, which is a violation of International law. The United States International treaties and obligations do not exist.
