Commission on Presidential Debates criticized after financial links to Hillary Clinton donations

New research out of Stanford University shows that one-hundred percent of direct donations from individual members of the bi-partisan Commission on Presidential Debates have gone to the Clinton Campaign while the Trump Campaign has received nothing.

The research was conducted by Rodolfo Cortes Barragan and Nick Bax, Doctoral candidates, Stanford University and can be found here.

The researchers ask, “is the CPD non-partisan?  Objective?”  The researchers go on to introduce the findings as “an abridged compilation of the financial and political commitments of individual CPD members together with evidence of non-objective, unscientific research practices in the polls used for debate inclusion.”

Critics cite the new information as further evidence that the CPD is too tied to the Democratic and Republican parties.  They claim it is just the latest example as to why the upcoming presidential debates should include all four candidates, including Jill Stein of the Green Party and Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party.

The research also highlights the conflict of interest between the consultants that the CPD employs as pollsters with at least one pollster working for a pro-Clinton Super PAC.

Even though 76% of US voters want four candidates in the debates, the two establishment parties are using their self-created commission to keep other candidates out.

This is the first protest of an escalating campaign/Occupation to support Democracy and demand that every candidate who is on enough ballots to achieve 270 electoral college votes is included in the debates.

The campaign is calling on people to Occupy the Debates and is building toward a mass protest at Hofstra University if all candidates are not included.

According to Wikipedia, Mr. Frank Fahrenkopf Jr. GOP, Chairman of the Presidential Debate Commission served as President of the US Gaming Industry….. Could there be a conflict of interest given the relationship between the Gaming Industry and Donald J. Trump? The California students are looking at a very important aspect of the power and finance behind the fraudulent “Presidential Debate Commission” however this is small potatoes considering the power behind the curtain that has essentially taken the ‘democracy’ out of ‘democratic elections’!!!!!!!! I’d rather the responsibility for the preparation and fact checking be removed from political parties and restored to the League of Women Voters…..

Frank Fahrenkopf Jr. (born August 28, 1939), is a U.S. lawyer, politician, and lobbyist, and was chairman of the Republican National Committee from 1983 to 1989. Fahrenkopf is co-creator, and currently co-chairman, of the Commission on Presidential Debates, which conducts the United States general election presidential and vice presidential debates in presidential election years. In the private sector, Fahrenkopf most recently served as the American Gaming Association’s first president, and retired from the position in 2013.
