Colt Ford
Trailblazing country artist Colt Ford has a sound that can best be described as Country meets Hip Hop. Ford is a professional golfer turned rapper, musician and songwriter who has released five albums, four of which have peaked in the Top 10 on the Billboard Country charts. Ford is famous for his revolutionary mash-up of good old boy country and the rhythms of hip-hop, a groundbreaking combination. He made his debut album, Ride Through the Country in 2008 and released a compilation album, Thanks for Listening. Answer to No One: The Colt Ford Classics, last year. Most recently, Colt Ford has used his notoriety to raise awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) among veterans in a 12-minute movie featuring his hit song, Workin’ On. Colt Ford performs on Monday, Feb. 15 at 6pm on the Coca-Cola Headline Music Stage.
Aranda
Self-taught musicians Dameon Aranda and Gabe Aranda started their first band in the 5th grade. Influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Cat Stevens, Aranda has collaborated with some of the music industry’s finest talent, including Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry and 3 Doors Down. Aranda’s forthcoming release, Not the Same features 11 new songs, including one stripped down acoustic and one self-proclaimed “disco-y pseudo rock track,” contains a message of hope and optimism for their audience. Aranda performs Monday, Feb. 15 at 7pm on the Tampa Bay Times Stage.
