Clearwater cyclist, Roberto Singson, in critical condition after bicycle crash
A serious bicycle crash in Dunedin Sunday has left three men injured, one with life-threatening injuries, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

A group of approximately 30 cyclists from the Suncoast Cycling Club, riding on the last leg of their 57 mile ride along County Road 1, just north of Michigan , experienced a serious and tragic accident that has resulted in several injuries, including serious head trauma.
According to sheriff’s officials, the cyclists were riding in close proximity heading northbound on County Road 1, just north of Michigan, when 53-year-old Roberto Singson’s front tire touched the back tire of a rider in front of him. Deputies say Singson lost control, fell of his bike and struck his head. Two other cyclists, 60-year-old James Poitras and 55-year-old John Burchfield struck Singson’s bike causing them to fall.
Sinsgon was transported by air to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Singson sustained head trauma. Poitras was transported by ambulance to Mease Countryside Hospital for a broken right clavicle. His injuries were non-life threatening. Burchfield was treated on scene for minor scratches and abrasions.
The crash appears to be accidental in nature.
All three riders were wearing helmets.
The investigation continues.
