Christian Egan, man, arrested for sexual abuse of 14-year-old mentally disabled girl
Pinellas authorities report that they have arrested a Texas man for sexually battering a mentally disabled minor a year ago
According to detectives, the victim who lives in Michigan, recently confided to her friends at school that the suspect, Christian Egan, had engaged her in oral sex while she was visiting Pinellas County in late August/early September of 2011.
One of the friends reported it to a school counselor, who in turn contacted the Novi Police Department.
The police began investigating the case and then forwarded the information to the Sheriff’s Crimes Against Children Unit.
Pinellas detectives determined that the suspect had engaged the victim in sexual acts on at least three occasions during the above listed time frame. Detectives also learned that the suspect would be visiting Pinellas County for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
On November 21, 2012 detectives made contact with the suspect, who voluntarily came to the Sheriff’s Administration Building to be interviewed.
The suspect admitted to the sex acts with the victim on the three occassions.
The suspect, identified as Egan, age 40, was arrested for three-counts sexual battery on a mentally disabled minor; and was subsequently transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.

IF THE GIRL IS MENTALLY-IMPAIRED, WHY DID Novi Police Department ACCEPT AN ACCOUNT OF THE EVENTS FROM A “FOURTH PARTY” [the school counselor]? AND, IF THE GIRL IS MENTALLY-IMPAIRED, SHE SHOULD HAVE FELT COMFORTABLE TELLING HER PARENTS AFTER THEY LEFT TEXAS AND RETURNED TO MICHIGAN.
THIS GIRL’S STATEMENT TO HER FRIENDS SUGGESTS SHE WAS BRAGGING ABOUT HAVING SEX WITH A FORTY-YEAR-OLD MALE.
