Chris Hemsworth promotes ‘The Avengers’: tension, Loki & the stolen script

Chris Hemsworth hasn’t dodged questions about “The Avengers” the weekend as he promotes “Thor” which opens this week, May 6. From Deadbolt to MTV and other music sites, to ComingSoon and movie sites and of course, the news outlets – Hemsworth has worked around the clock since last Thursday giving interviews and sound bites.

Artist Direct discussed Hemsworth’s love of music and the actor went on to confirm he’d be joining “Avengers” shoot the week after “Thor” opens: “We’re doing The Avengers in about a week or so. They all come together—Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, and Thor. It’s an attempt to form an alliance, and it’s conflict the whole way through.”

Tom Hiddleston co-starred in “Thor” as Loki and will be joining Hemsworth on the Whedon project: “[It’s great] to have my brother there. Even if we don’t get along,” Hemsworth joked. “[Hiddleston] is fantastic. [He gave] an incredible, incredible performance in the film, and he’s going to do the same in this one.”

To MTV Hemsworth explains:

“There’s certainly some tension. You’ve got big egos on these superheroes,” he said. “None of them want to be told what to do or form an alliance with these people who they don’t understand anything about,” he said. “In the comic books, you see that it’s not an easy mix; that’s definitely in [the movie].”

“Well, you’d want it, wouldn’t you? Otherwise, why are we all there? I think it would be safe to say you can expect something like that,” he said.

“The Avengers” also shut down production as Samuel L. Jackson’s script was stolen and a few pages landed on the Internet.
