Annie Potts played Janine Melnitz, the receptionist for the team, a perfect foil for team. Now Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones will make up the new Ghostbusters, awaiting an assignment from the sexy Avengers star.
Collider started offering what fans are asking: “Now the next question is, will Secretary Hemsworth be smitten with one of the lady Ghostbusters? If so, who do we think it will be? And since we’re swapping gender roles left and right, then certainly there has to be a lady version of Rick Moranis’ Louis Tully to act as irritant/comedic foil/potential love interest for Hemsworth?”
Production is set to start this summer and creators (co-writer Katie Dippold) beefing up the part to attract Hemsworth to the project.
“It looks like we’re gonna be shooting interiors in Boston and then we’ll shoot a number of the exteriors in New York. It’s just shooting in New York has gotten very, very expensive,” Feig said to SXSW.
Hemsworth is stretching his comedic acting chops with a role in Vacation and now the Feig film.
Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters opens July 22, 2016. His latest film, Spy, is in theaters now, opening #1 at the box office.
