Chicago teen, Rayshon Williams and Derrick Williams charged in murder of Michael Sullivan, UPS worker
A Chicago teen has been charged in the murder of an UPS worker, who was shot on his way to work during an apparent robbery, reports CBS Chicago.
Rayshon Williams, age 16, has been charged with Derrick Williams, age 20, for the murder of Michael Sullivan, age 53, who was shot in the head last week. A surveillance video, shown on CBS, shows the man walking, a car pulling up next to him, and moments later he was shot.
Police say the teen has been charged with murder, attempted robbery and stealing a vehicle.
Prosecutors say the co-defendant fired the fatal shots as the bond for Rayshon Williams was set for $1 million.
Derrick Williams was charged with first-degree murder, attempted robbery and misdemeanor criminal trespass to a vehicle.
Sullivan worked for UPS over 30 years.
CBS spoke with family, reporting that Sullivan was the father of two adult daughters and he recently became a grandfather for the second time.
“I want my dad back,” said Sullivan’s daughter, Latoya Griffin. “There’s nothing else I can say. It hurts. It hurts so bad!”
“He was going to work. He didn’t hurt nobody. All he wanted to do was go to work and help take care of my grandma.”
