Chester Powell and Cheyenne Neal identified in Louisiana murder suicide
Detectives in Louisiana are investigating a murder-suicide after a man and woman were found dead at a Bossier City apartment complex. Authorities have identified the two as Chester Wayne Powell and Cheyenne Neal.
Police responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots around 7:30 Monday evening at the Mirage Apartments on East Texas Street.
Powell, 60, of Belcher, shot and killed, Neal, 22, and then turned the gun on himself. Both were found dead inside of the apartment when police arrived.
“EMS personnel found that both subjects, a man and a woman, were deceased,” Bossier City Police public information officer Traci Landry said in a release. “The man is identified as 60-year-old Chester Wayne Powell of 220 Gray Street, Belcher, Louisiana, and the woman is identified as 22-year-old Cheyenne Neal of 1702 E. Texas Street.”
Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit was on scene and reported that another person was in the apartment when the man entered with a gun, but left.
Police say that Powell visited Neal often and Neal’s neighbors said, recently they noticed a lot of women coming and going from the apartment unit.
