Cellicia Hunt attacks Florida immigration office with Molotov cocktail

A Florida woman tossed a lit Molotov cocktail into the lobby of a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office in Oakland Park.

Cellicia Hunt

Cellicia Hunt, 35, has been charged with maliciously attempting to damage or destroy a government building by fire after walking into the office Friday afternoon and hurled a bottle filled with gasoline and a lit fuse. The fuse disconnected from the bottle and did not ignite.
Ken Cuccinelli, acting director of Citizenship and Immigration Services, which handles legal immigration, said in a tweet that the incident was “another example of the use of violence in place of debate by those who oppose the proper application of our immigration laws.”

Security officers handcuffed Hunt, who was then taken into custody by Federal Protective Service officers who arrested her.

Court documents said the incident was also captured on surveillance video.

Hunt is expected in federal court in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Tuesday.

She was being held without bail in a local jail Saturday and it was not immediately clear whether she had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.

Full Cuccinelli tweet(s): ““Today’s attempted attack on one of our USCIS facilities using a Molotov cocktail is another example of the use of violence in place of debate by those who oppose the proper application of our immigration laws… https://apnews.com/b66817d6a9714069b809b2f1f3048b13

“This is the 2d attack on a DHS facility in 2 months using a Molotov cocktail. Violence has no place in our society. Thankfully, no one was hurt today. We’re grateful to our security guards & the law enforcement officers of FPS who apprehended and arrested the assailant.”
