Cecile Richards to Planned Parenthood supporters: Congress brings ‘most dangerous’ time for pro-abortionists
Just as Senators and Reps were sworn-in, the 115th Congress marks entrance into “the most dangerous moment in Planned Parenthood’s history,” according to Cecile Richards, the group’s president to supporters in a Tuesday email.
“They’re ready to shut down Planned Parenthood health centers. This is the fight of our lives,” was the heavy text at the top of the email sent out from Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund.
Richards is addressing the battle between the abortion giant and the pro-life House and Senate majorities combined with President-elect Trump’s promise to help defund Planned Parenthood.
“Without the promise of a presidential veto, there’s only one thing that can stop this destructive agenda: Us. You, me, and millions of Planned Parenthood supporters locked arm in arm,” Richards wrote. The “battle is here — and I’m ready to fight like hell.”
Abortion advocates have been panicking since their many political losses in November, urging each other to get free or cheap IUDs that will “outlast Trump.”
The undercover videos by Center for Medical Progress put Planned Parenthood under the microscope as their profits, handling of fetal tissue and patient consent have become scrutinized. In fact, the call to end tax payer funds to the abortion group have heightened in response to the new ADF letter noted “…the new federal audits of state family planning programs in California, Texas, and Wisconsin, totaling over $2.5 million, and state audits of Planned Parenthood affiliates in Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.”
“Congress should do what the House of Representatives has twice voted to do: end taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s most profitable abortionist, once and for all,” said ADF Senior Counsel Steven H. Aden.
