Carrie Fisher discusses ‘melted’ look of co-stars in ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ and hairdo
Carrie Fisher discussed her role as Princess Leia and returning to the famous role for Star Wars: Episode VII during the Hay Festival in Wales. She admits that she and her original co-stars “all look a little melted”.
“We all look a little melted. It’s good to see other melted people…And it is good to have us all in a room because it’s unique. I mean, I don’t suppose they have reunions for the Gone With The Wind gang.”
Fisher joked about Leia’s distinctive look, revealing that she wants the buns back. “That hairdo can never really be repeated without gales of laughter,” she says.
“I’ve begged them to put the hair back on in grey and just catch me cooking with the hair, like Granny Leia.”
Director JJ Abrams is currently filming k on Episode VII, more recently shooting in Abu Dhabi, which is doubling for Tatooine.
Fisher returns with Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew from the original trilogy. The new cast includes John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.
Star Wars: Episode VII arrives in theaters onDecember 2015.
